The Authors
Kami Garcia is a teacher and reading specialist with an MA in education, and leads book groups for children and teenagers. Margaret Stohl has an MA in English and studied creative writing under poet George MacBeth at the University of East Anglia, Norwich. They both live in Los Angeles, California, with their families. Beautiful Creatures is their debut novel.

If I had a Twitter or Facebook I would promote the book but since I don’t I’m sad to say I can’t but when I’m at the bookstore I could recommend it to someone if they want me to.

The title Beautiful Creatures is so intriguing. I hope I spelt that right. I like finding out why books get the names that they get.
This contest to me shows just how dedicated Fans are.

I saw Kami and Margaret’s interview about the book and I agree with every word they said about how teens are intrigued and passionated about supernatural stories nowadays. It’s our escape, our way to get out of this reality and live adventures and romance that we won’t have in real life.
Real life is overreted.
The title “Beautiful Creatures” reminds of a Radiohead song. “I don’t care if hurts, I wanna have control, I wanna a perfect body, I wanna a perfect soul. I want you to notice when I’m not around. I wish I was special. You’re so fu**ing speacial, but I’m a creep, I’m a weirdo, what the hell am I doing here? I don’t belong here”.
Beautiful Creatures has taken me a while to read so far, but that’s only because I’ve been swamped with papers for school and I’ve been away from home, where I left my copy.
I’ve been catching up on some reading yesterday and today and I hope to read a good chunk of BC tonight and tomorrow, but I do have two papers due this week and they’re both long, so I don’t know how much reading I’ll actually be able to do.
I haven’t read it yet, and it sounds like an amazing story… Plus, I’m a bookaholic. I need books to breathe.

Okay, waiting up in the middle of the night to post some more about BC… Is that dedicated or just crazy? *lol* Let’s say dedicated, sounds better ^^
I want to reead BC because I want to know what the secret is that could destroy the town…
And I want to know why Ethan dreamt about Lena before he even met her…
I also want to know how it is possible that Ethan is actually dirty eventho he was in his bed. Dis he go sleep-walking? Or is there some higher force at work here
And how can Ethan hear Lena in his head? Is it his imagination or do they really have some sort of connection? Does Lena know he can hear her and that he drealt about her.
Argh! So many questions, I want an answer to them hahaha. I guess I’ll find out while reading BC!
Also, I want to discover which song there is missing on Ethan’s playlist here on the site xD I’ll figure that one I guess while reading BC again.
Why did Lena move to BC? Or didn’t she move there at all? Maybe she was there all along. Owh man, the suspense is killing me, I want to know what the deal is!
Also, I just want to see how and when Ethan and Lena fall for for each other. Is it destiny? And are they meant to be or are they cursed? That’s the major question I guess.
What story is there besides the love story? Because a 576 page book can not only go about their love I suppose, there just has got to be more to it! Me wants to read BC to find out!
The excerpt you can read on line clearly states ‘First Edition: December 2009′ I really do hope that my amazon edition is a first edition ^^ I noticed amazon mentions it when it’s a 1st ed, but they don’t mention it with BC. Fingers crossed it still is tho! Can’t wait to receive my copy, it’ll prob be the first page I look at haha ^^
I wonder tho when I’ll get the time to read BC… Knowing myself I won’t be able to stop reading, but I still have my horse to take care of and also need to go to my internship + get my work for school done, hmmm.
If the children at my internship would be older and actually understood English, I knew which book I could recommend to them *lol* You’ll just have to write a children’s version to this book hihi ;)

I also would love to find out more about Ethans mum, what happened t oher and stuff… It must have been so hard on him, I really know how it feels to lose a family memeber sadly enough. Owh, I just hope it doesn’t make me cry too much.

I also think that the missing song maybe a slow song perhaps because most all the other songs are fast, upbeat, rock songs.
Thinking about it makes it all so real haha, sometimes people really have to remind themselve they are only characters! That’s how much you get into them. Sometimes you know a character better than your friends. I wonder how much we’ll get to know about both Ethan & Lena and all the other characters…
I think the playlist is pretty cool hehe ^^ All rather modern songs and I know most of them. I’m not really into music that much anymore, so it’s good that books actualy make me get into some music… Like Twilight did for me whaha, I’m sure BC will do the same!
